The Liebster Award - I've been nominated!

I've never heard of the Liebster Award before, probably because I'm still a fairly new blogger. Upon doing some research, it seems like a very fun way for bloggers to market other bloggers. Blogging can be quite challenging, since it may be difficult to get yourself out there, considering how many other bloggers exist. I love the idea that being a blogger, you are also part of a community where you can talk about whatever you want! This is an innovative way for you to let your readers know a little more about yourself. Thank you to Olivia Cora from Corabeaux for nominating me for this awesome award. Enjoy!

The Rules:

1. You must answer all questions that are given to you.
2. Must link back to the person that nominated you.
3. Write 11 random facts about yourself.
4. Nominate 11 bloggers who have less than 200 followers.
5. Provide nominees with 11 questions of your choice.
6. Cannot nominate the person who nominated you.
7. Must inform nominees of your nomination.
8. Provide nominees with a link to your post for more info.

11 Random Facts About Myself:
1. I have social anxiety. In certain situations (usually only at school, but sometimes in social gatherings), I get really nervous when I have to talk to people. For example; I feel nervous the day before an event or gathering, knowing that I have to talk to others. Its hard to deal with, especially for school, because I will go to great lengths to avoid awkward situations or social interactions (like skipping class), but I can manage sometimes. I am not a shy person at all, I just take more time to be comfortable enough to communicate with people.

2. Youtube is my life. Maybe my boyfriend is the only one who has to deal with it, but I talk about Youtubers more than I talk about my own life. I love to watch vlogs. Especially The Shaytards and ItsJudysLife. I also watch The Saccone Jolys and BFvsGF.

3. I have a tongue piercing. Most people that I've met in maybe the last 2-3 years don't know I have one since I don't go advertising to everyone I know. I used to always take pictures with my tongue sticking out, and thought "hey, wouldn't it be even better to have a tongue piercing?" I think I got it when I was 16-17. When I turned 19, I removed it because the place I went to pierced it way too far back and it was crooked. I got it repierced about 2 years ago, and to this day, it's still my favourite piercing.

4. I'm in college for Marketing. Go figure. Someone who has social anxiety is in school for marketing? A part of me feels like going to school for marketing was probably the biggest mistake of my life.

5. I'm a hoarder (kind of). All my life I've had a problem with collecting things. I wouldn't say its an OCD thing, because my problem isn't that bad. When I was little, I used to collect all my teeth every time they fell out (I think I still have them too..). I collected bus transfers and rocks I thought were pretty. Til this day, I still collect movie ticket stubs, boxes (shoe boxes, packaging for make-up, boxes for all electronics) that I have no use for. I also collected 3D glasses from movie theatres (even though you were suppose to recycle them), magazines, and most recently make-up. In a span of a year and a half, I have accumulated a fairly large make-up collection that you can check out here.

6. I like to go into detail about stuff (or ramble), way too often. As you can clearly see above from my first 5 facts. I'll try to keep the rest short.

7. My favourite type of weather is during the month of September-October. Still fairly warm enough in Canada to wear shorts in the sun, but cold enough you need a sweater. Sweater weather FTW!

8. I've been dying my hair since grade 4. I know, sounds awful. My hair is surprisingly not that fried!

9. I've been in love with my best friend since I was 16. 7 years later, and I still am! (We are still together too, if you are wondering).

10. I have big feet. You know what they say about girls with big feet!? They say nothing. (size 9)

11. I'm easily amused. Not in a bad way, it just means it doesn't take much to get me to laugh. Even the littlest of things can make me happy.

Questions from Corabeaux:
What made you start your blog?
I actually used to blog back in like .. 2007, but I stopped because it was difficult maintaining an online diary and remembering to write everyday. I started a beauty blog this time since I love to share my thoughts about beauty, and share my hauls with my friends and everyone who wants to see them :)

Who's your blogsperation?
My blogsperation would probably be Xiaxue. Though she doesn't blog as much on her main blog anymore, she was one of my main inspirations back in the day to start blogging. I loved how honest and brutal she was, and she definitely knows her way around photoshop. I fell in love with her Guide to Life videos, and now that she has a baby, I've grown to love him too!

Who's your favourite Youtuber?
My favourite Youtuber is Judy from ItsJudysLife and her main beauty channel ItsJudyTime. I love watching her family vlogs and her beauty videos! Definitely one of my favourite Youtubers of all time.

What is your favourite subject of blog post?
My favourite thing to write about would be hauls. I love doing hauls and also watching hauls since I'm interested to see what products people are currently interested in. It gives you an insight of what may currently be trending, or what type of products people are looking for. I haven't done a haul in a while because I've spent way too much on make-up in the past year, so I'm learning to use what I have in my collection.

What do you think makes a good blog?
Content and photographs. I go through Bloglovin to find interesting bloggers, and most of the time, I read blog posts that have catchy post titles, and eye-catching photos. My favourite type of blogs to read are beauty and DIY blogs. You don't want your main blog post photo to blend in the background with everyone else's, you should make it different and exciting.

Three things on your bucket list?
On my bucket list for the next 2-3 years:
1. Get my G license
2. Graduate from college
3. Go on a vacation out of the country

Do you have a "golden rule" when it comes to blogging?
Hmm.. My golden rule when it comes to blogging is to never be anyone else but yourself. Don't try to be someone else when you're typing out your blog posts, be you. People read your blog not only because of how it looks or your pictures. They want to see who's the writer behind the posts, and the only way they can see it is how you talk to them through your words. Sometimes I feel like I get lost in my thoughts when I'm writing a blog post, and I start to ramble. When I ramble, my posts start to look like I was on auto pilot and nothing makes sense. I've started to sit down and really focus on my blog posts now to avoid nonsense, and provide good, quality content.

Any tips you would give to new bloggers?
Find time to write your blog posts. I always tell myself to pre-schedule posts, and then I don't. When I rush to put a post up, my writing gets sloppy, and my posts don't seem to make sense. Take time out of your day to write a good quality post. Create a schedule to when you will begin writing and when you want to post.

How do you get your blog noticed?
Mainly through social media. Twitter and Facebook are the main two ways I get my blog out there.

What makes you happy everyday?
That is a difficult question. I could say my boyfriend but thats not true haha, he totally pisses me off some days. I really don't know the answer to this question haha.

What is your favourite social media?
Probably Instagram. I love looking at other peoples pictures and I love posting pictures as well.
