Bioderma has been one of my most favourite skin care brands, ever since I started wearing make-up. I began my way with the Bioderma Sensibio H2O Solution as my everyday make-up remover, and also used the Sebium Mat as my moisturizer back in the day.
Today I will be reviewing the Bioderma Sebium Pore Refiner. The whole "Sebium" line was created for those with combination/oily or blemished skin.
The Sebium Pore Refiner claims to:
- tighten pores
- smooth and refine the texture of skin
- mattifiy your skin
- prevent blemishes
- preserve the skin's natural radiance
For me, I used the pore refiner before applying my foundation primer. The smell can be a bit overwhelming and sickening to those sensitive to very chemical lotion smells. I honestly don't know how else to describe it. It's very fragrant. The gel like serum dries quickly on the skin, leaving it feeling matte, but soft.
Does it work? After using it for a few weeks, I did find that on the days I used the Pore Refiner, my pores looked significantly smaller once I finished applying all my make-up. It didn't help with my oily skin though, as it peeked at around hour 6-7 of being out with make-up on. I did enjoy this product, as it did minimize the look of my pores, but of course my pores were still there in the end. The smell can be a bit awful to some, and sadly, it didn't help with mattifying my skin. Would I repurchase? Yes, because it did make my pores significantly less noticeable under my make-up, which is nice since I have horrendously huge pores.
This product was sent to me for reviewing and testing purposes.
All opinions are my own.
