Finally, Spring is officially here. Unfortunately for us in Toronto, apparently there's 10cm of snow to be expected at the end of the week. What kind of Spring is that? Winter has really taken a toll on my skin this year, and I am here today with the solution.
Aveeno's Skin Relief line has been clinically proven to relieve and soothe dry, cracked skin. The line is gentle enough for those with sensitive skin, and helps with the process of healing dry skin.
My package came nicely packaged in cellophane and a cute bow.
The moisturizing lotion claims to dry quick, while providing instant relief of skin dryness. It even says that it keeps your skin moisturized for a whole 24 hours! While using the lotion, I noticed that even though it felt extremely thick like a shea butter, it didn't feel greasy at all. It was definitely quick drying, and left my skin feeling smooth and moisturized all day. Although it says it's fragrance free, there was a super faint lotion scent to it. Well, I suppose it's technically fragrance free, but there is a generic smell to it. I don't know, maybe it's just me. If you're sensitive to fragrant, perfume smells, this doesn't have that at all. The smell is barely noticeable.
Probably my favourite of the three, the Aveeno Skin Relief Body wash is suppose to cleanse and moisturize itchy, dry skin. Upon use, it had a very mild natural scent, and it lathered quite nicely. It instantly left my skin feeling super smooth and silky. I loved that after I dried myself off, my skin still felt super silky. I found that my skin wasn't dry anymore in parts that were always dry before using this product. Definitely my new favourite body wash.
The Aveeno Skin Relief Hand Cream is formulated with Active Naturals colloidal oatmeal, which is suppose to help heal dry skin and form a protective barrier against the elements for 24 hours. The formula claims to last through hand washing, allowing your skin to continue feeling smooth and soft after use. The non greasy formula is fast absorbing and also fragrance free. I found that this product was for sure fragrance free, as I didn't smell anything after applying liberally to my dry hands. Constantly going to the gym and lifting weights, my hands started getting extremely dry, and developed calluses. The hand cream absorbed quickly into my skin, leaving it feeling baby soft. I washed my hands about 2-3 times within a few hours, and found that my hands still felt rather soft. By the end of the day, a few of my calluses were feeling a bit rough, but overall, my hands weren't as dry as they were before use.

Overall, the Skin Relief line has proved to provide instant relief to dry skin. These products would work great for those who constantly have to deal with dry, itchy skin, or have to deal with it especially in the winter months, such as myself. I'm normally not a big lotion/hand cream person, because I hate feeling greasy and I hate not being able to use any of my electronic devices after applying these skincare products. With the Aveeno Skin Relief products, I can use my phone or type away on my laptop, without the huge worry of grease marks left behind! Within a minute, I'm able to hold my phone and use my laptop, because the hand cream has instantly absorbed into my skin. Quite amazing.
These products have been sent to me for reviewing and testing purposes.
